Title: Programs Assistant

Summary: We’re looking for a freelance individual based in Rome to assist the production and delivery of CASTRO’s Programs during 2024. This is an exciting time to join us as we embark on a number of new projects.

Duration: January to July 2024; extendable

Hours: 20 weekly hours, flexible schedule to be agreed ahead of the start date. Required to attend 4 monthly Team Meetings.

Contract: freelance collab

Fee: between 5000 and 6000€ depending on experience

Location: Rome

Job Description:

  • Deal with a number of organisational and administrative duties pertaining the planning and delivery of the Studio Program such as studio visits, events, and open studios
  • Assist with the organisation and production of the CRIT programme: manage calendar, liaise with artists, facilitators and hosting venues, deal with logistical issues and space arrangements
  • Be present during events (CRITS, Presentations) and assist with event facilitation
  • Assist with the organisation and production of Library-related events and manage administrative duties related to CASTRO’s growing library (contributions, database, requests, book purchases, etc.)
  • Manage studio holders requests and studio advertisement, and deal with logistical issues when required
  • Assist with a number of financial related duties including managing petty cash and dealing with invoices
  • Deal with other administrative or office related duties as they emerge
  • Assist with fundraising and gathering documentation for funding applications in collaboration with the Programmes Manager and the Director
  • Assist with the organisation and production of fundraising events in collaboration with the Director

Person Specification:

  • Proficiency in Italian and English
  • Google Drive, Cal, Sheets and Docs; Acrobat Photoshop and InDesign skills
  • Specific knowledge of the field of contemporary art and interest in alternative learning
  • Based in Rome
  • Excellent organisation and planning skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate diplomatically and effectively at all levels
  • A strong team player able to work collaboratively, positively and enthusiastically with colleagues
  • Serious and confidential attitude
