Rihanata Bigey (b.1994) is a London-based multidisciplinary artist with roots in Burkina Faso and France. Her work is a fusion of diverse cultural influences, exploring themes of culture, identity, gender and belonging. Through painting, drawing, collage, weaving and sculpture, she delves into the richness of art, craft and motifs from the African continent, questioning and reimagining the meaning and social constructions surrounding the representation of black women. Rihanata holds a BA (National diploma of plastic Art) from the École des Beaux-Arts de Nantes, France (2017) and an MFA from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design (2023).
