Chiara Pagano’s work moves in the intersection between performance, experimental writing, and music composition. Dealing with corporeality, and moving into the territories of performance, sound, and queer studies, her research reconsiders cultural memory and politics recorded from the mid-twentieth century onwards, specifically in Italy. With a particular focus on industrialization, gender relations, and popular culture, it addresses questions of language, archive, and identity formation, advocating the creation of counter-narratives and practices of self-emancipation.
She has studied at the Dutch Art Institute (2020-2022, MA Art Praxis) and is currently based in Rome where she’s a member of LOCALES.
