Leopold Thun is a gallerist and a co-director of Emalin in London.
In September 2016 together with Angelina Volk, he converted a former Bethnal Green locksmith into Emalin, a contemporary art gallery – and before this, had organised a programme of itinerant exhibitions. Emalin has participated in a number of fairs, including Liste and Frieze London.
Leopold holds an MA in Art History from The Courtauld Institute of Art and a joint MA in Art History and International Relations from the University of St Andrews. He has previous work experience at Kate MacGarry, Sotheby’s, the New Museum of Contemporary Art, New York, the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, Copenhagen and the Belvedere Wien.
He has launched an ongoing ceramics residency in Bolzano, Italy in June 2015, curated the annual charity auction held by Phillips and Cosmoscow Off White, and sits on the Development Committee of Artangel.
