THE CONTEMPORARY ART WORLD SYSTEM. Strategies and Players

The course is aimed at anyone who wishes to understand more fully the contemporary art system or is interested in collecting.

Frequency: 2 monthly meetings. Saturday from 16.00 to 18.00.

The first meeting is scheduled for Saturday, Dicembre 1, 2018.

PROGRAM:

December 1: Introduction. Analysis of the art system and related companies: institutions, private companies, multi-purpose structures, analysis of the various operating professionals.

January 26: Market analysis and impact on art in history and contemporaneity: primary market and artistic creation, secondary market and related activities. Hints of the history of collecting.

February 9: Art galleries, the artist, the collector: a shared enterprise.

February 23: Market strategies and price of art: the price of art, increase and decrease in value, the Art Advisor, speculation in art and the role of auctions.

March 2: Young art.

March 16: Identity and market positioning: languages ​​and Brand Identity, fairs and geography of art.

March 30: Open Calls, residencies, private lenders and fundraising: impact on the art system, sponsors, friends of the Museums, foundations, residencies for artists and curators, public collections, donation / loan.

April 13: Conclusions.

The seminar is led by Carla Chiarchiaro. Carla, born in Prato in 1983, lives and works in Rome since 2010. She received a Master’s Degree in History of Art, at the University of Florence (2009) and then a Master in Contemporary Art and Business Relation at the Antonio De Nebrija University of Madrid (2010) . From 2009 to 2010 he worked at the Parra & Romero Gallery, Madrid; from 2010 to 2014 at the Federica Schiavo gallery, Rome and from 2014 to 2017 at the Frutta, Rome gallery. In September 2017 he founded the ADA gallery, Rome.
